Happy 9 Years!!!

The post I was originally going to do for today has been pre-empted by a little blog experiment of mine. While I do not get hung up on the number of comments my posts receive, I have noticed that there are certain types of posts that other people do that elicit quite a few responses. My sister-in-law posted a few days ago a similar picture to the one I have above, celebrating her and her husband's 4 year anniversary and BAM - 15 comments! So I am going to try this also, and see if I can boost my comment number. Granted, I know my picture has a few things working against it when compared to JoEllen's and Burke's:

1. JoEllen is "in the family way" (unlike me.) It was a very sweet picture of her and Burke, especially with his hands on her stomach. Jason and I tried to recreate it, but it just isn't the same.

2. JoEllen and Burke look very stylish in their clothing. I am in my softball uniform, and Jason just fixed our broken drain in the pink bathroom (yeah!) so he is wearing "work" clothes.

3. Outside pictures always look better, in my opinion. I love our hallway, but let's face it, it's kind of drab in a picture.

4. Someone competent with a camera took their picture. Hey, Elizabeth didn't do a bad job - she is only 6.

5. Okay, today isn't actually our anniversary - it's May 31. But I had to go with their theme to do my experiment.

So we'll see if I can improve my comment count. However, rather it stays in the 0-5 range or boosts up to the hundreds, the regularly scheduled post will return tomorrow. Oh, and if you want to see a much better "couples" picture, check out the Hummel link.

oh and by the way, how many times did she take your picture!? To be honest it took several attempts to get the pic that is on our blog! At one point I had a mint in my mouth and I looked swollen on one side...then, I blinked, then I moved my arm...it seriously took longer than the normal picture.

Well, I hope your heart skipped a few beats when you woke up today and checked to see how many comments your blog recieved!

I had to have fun with this!

See you soon...Caislyn and I will be out on the 27th...probably our last trip before the babies come. Caislyn asks for ELizabeth every day...and she still thinks Anna is sleeping in the crib and wants to go in and wake her up!

Love ya

Now you will have 10 comments!! Yeah for you! This experiment is really working.

Since I am one of those "blogger stalkers" I will come out from behind my computer and add another number to your total...

Very funny post...and comments! Our anniversary is coming up next month, and to be honest, I am already secretly hoping we get a lot of comments - and wondering how we are going to get a good picture. Not sure our one year old can handle that one ;)

I think blogging has made me obsessive. But it has been a lot of fun for me! :) :)

Well, congratulations on 9 years!(+1.5 months)

Just a few questions:
1.Are you expecting triplets too? I thought the hands on the tummy thing was to announce the coming of triplets??? Not that you look like you are...
2.Would Elizabeth be available for a photo shoot? Our family needs to update some family pic's. She's got great skill!
3.And finally...Have you been able to pull yourself away to get some toilet paper? :o)

Lynn, no triplets this way, but that would have been a very creative way of announcing if we were expecting! We are letting JoEllen be the one increasing the family right now - Bonita is already going to be doubling her grandhild amount - we don't want to overwhelm her :). I finally did a toilet paper run yesterday afternoon (another 24 hours after the post.) The Wuertley bottoms are smiling again!

Oh, and I have recently discovered that there are many blog stalkers out there. A friend commented on a post I wrote weeks ago (they had never left a comment), and said she had found more foods that have obvious ingredients in them. I had no idea she even read my blog - so I am sure tons of people read yours but never post.

One more thing...Jo Ellen actually only had 14 comments because someone inadvertently posted their comment twice. (FYI)

I bet you end up with twice that many when all is said and done. (unless you subtract the 10 comments Jo left and the three I have left...)

Hey, wait a minute! What is this - a competition or something?

Well, I don't usually leave comments on blogs but I am dying laughing. My coworker was wondering what was so funny, so I had to tell her about your blog. Now I have to go to JoEllen's a leave a comment. We love you guys. Happy Anniversary again.

Deb, Can I have permission to use some of your posts as examples of good quality writing pieces in my english classes this year? Seriously, my students love to hear this kind of humorous stuff. Love the picture, i figured Elizabeth took it, since i know she is a future photographer. So glad Jason fixed the sink, i was so worried. And Jason should know, we had a few Kleenex times growing up. I just don't remember ever resorting to napkins and paper towels. What a hoot!

NO we need to get to 30 comments...that's Holly's highest! Wow, this is becoming a competition, even for little 'ole me! HA!

I checked after I made that comment too. How funny is that? We are sad, sad people. So, here's 29. Hope you've had a good day Deb. Enjoyed having you over to the pool yesterday. We need to do it more often. Looking forward to tomorrow night.

WOW! I didn't realize blogging could be so competitive. I guess this means you're at 30 and will need just one more comment to hold "the record". :o)

Deb,

I understand now why people blog and read other blogs--but this one of yours tops them all. It shows your true wit, your comic side. This kind of humor only comes in writing, and can be appreciated for what it is only in reading. Somehow the flavor of your personality comes through in your writing.
Elizabeth did a great job, too. Do I hear suggestion for a birthday gift?

Well . . . I guess we'll be seeing Deb's blog take a different tack from here on out.

Goodbye to the entertaining musings and funny anecdotes. Say hello to the Battle of the Comment Counts.

Seriously, though, happy late 'versary. Great pic in a great hallway. Any chance that Elizabeth has any additional household skills -- like, say, painting -- and would like to come visit her cousin Joel?

Jen, I have not copyrighted any posts, so feel free to share :).

Joel, if you read my next post, you will know not to even mention the word painting in this household right now!
